Practical checklist

Make the next work block feel calmer.

You do not need a full desk makeover. Use one minute per step, keep what helps, and adjust the setup around the work you actually do.
1 minuteClear the reach zoneMove cups, packaging, and rarely used tools away from the space between keyboard, mouse, and screen.
1 minuteCheck screen heightRaise the screen until you can look ahead comfortably. If you raise a laptop, use an external keyboard and mouse for longer sessions.
1 minuteReset the chairSit back in the chair, place both feet on a stable surface, and leave enough space to move rather than holding one rigid position.
1 minuteRoute daily cablesKeep charging and USB-C ends reachable. Move permanent monitor and power cables behind or below the desk.
1 minutePlan the next pauseChoose a natural stopping point to stand, walk, or change position. Regular movement matters more than one perfect posture.

After five minutes

Start work and notice what still interrupts you. Change one thing at a time. A useful setup is repeatable, not showroom-perfect.
